McConnell Dowell Aquatic Silt Curtain

To supply, deliver and install aquatic silt curtain and innovative primary containment curtain to facilitate dredging operations in Port Kembla.

Boom Length:	820m with variable skirt depth from 9m to 12m deep 190m with 2.4m skirt depth for reclamation zone

Project Summary

To facilitate dredging operations in Port Kembla, a rectangular zone was constructed using variable skirt depths to match the ocean bed contours to ensure minimal silt migration.
A reclamation zone was contained using 190m of silt curtain.
Manufacture was completed within 2 weeks and installation within one week to meet client requirements.
Installation and removal of all curtains was implemented. Installation to GPS specific anchoring points using 300kg anchors.
